Description
This tree was the location where many Western movies were filmed, including movies starring John Wayne.
Located in Arizona's high desert, under the towering southwestern rim of the vast Colorado Plateau, is the city of Sedona.
Almost the entire world knows that Sedona, strategically situated at the mouth of spectacular Oak Creek Canyon, is a unique place. Characterized by massive red-rock formations, as well as the contrasting riparian areas of Oak Creek Canyon, the area surrounding this beloved community is considered at least as beautiful as many national parks.
The Red Rocks of Sedona are located in Central Arizona within newly developed Red Rock State Park. Walkways and trails wind around impressive pinnacles of red sandstone rock. The presence of iron is responsible for the rock color and the redness is actually rust.
Some of the more popular formations and locations are: cathedral rock, castle rock, steamboat rock, snoopy, coffee pot, and diamondback gulch.

Looks very much like the tree my husband and I got married next to on Schnebly Hill in Sedona in 2004. We would love this photo to accent the room of our pending daughter who's middle name will be Sedona in honor of the place my husband and I love the most!

Thank you, Eleanor! I've never seen that tree in his movies, but that is what the guide told us! :)
